This standard deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial kitchen machines, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase appliances connected between one phase and neutral, and 480 V for other appliances including direct current (DC) supplied appliances and battery operated appliances. These appliances are not intended for household and similar purposes. They are used for commercial processing of food in areas not open to the public, for example in kitchens of restaurants, canteens, hospitals and in commercial enterprises such as bakeries and butcheries.

Eurocode 1 - Actions on structures - Part 1-5: Thermal actions

1.1 Scope of EN 1991-1-5 (1) EN 1991-1-5 gives principles and rules for calculating thermal actions on buildings, bridges and other structures including their structural members. Principles needed for cladding and other attachments of buildings are also provided. (2) This document describes the changes in the temperature of structural members. Characteristic values of thermal actions are presented for use in the design of structures which are exposed to daily and seasonal climatic changes. (3) This document also gives principles for changes in the temperature of structural members due to the paving of hot asphalt on bridge decks. (4) This document also provides principles and rules for thermal actions acting in structures which are mainly a function of their use (e.g. cooling towers, silos, tanks, warm and cold storage facilities, hot and cold services, etc.). NOTE Supplementary guidance for thermal actions on chimneys is provided in EN 13084-1. 1.2 Assumptions (1) The assumptions given in EN 1990:2023, 1.2 apply. Fume cupboards — Part 9: Fume cupboards, ducted with filtered internal recirculation

This document specifies characteristics concerning the design and performance requirements together with type testing and on-site testing procedures especially for ducted filtration fume cupboards (DFFCs) not described in the other parts of EN 14175. Filters in DFFCs can be specific filters or a combination of filters dependent on the characteristics of the contaminants to be removed. This part of EN 14175 is related to and refers to other parts of EN 14175 regarding definitions, technologies, testing methodologies, design factors and functional aspects and is read in conjunction with these. This standard covers the specific layout version of ducted fume cupboards with integral filtration. These devices called ducted filtration fume cupboards can be designed to partially reuse filtered air for internal dilution. Therefore, the term “hybrid” fume cupboards is sometimes used. Fume cupboards with associated filters are considered as standard fume cupboards according EN 14175 1 to EN 14175 3. NOTE Their filter requirements, description and testing are listed in Annex A for information. The requirements for fume cupboards and filters for radioactive work are described in detail in EN 14175 8. Recirculatory filtration fume cabinets which return the filtered exhaust air back into the surrounding room are not part of this document but described in prEN 17242. DFFCs are not foreseen for work with pathogens. Appropriate microbiological cabinets are described in the EN 12469 series.

Booths for application of coating material - Safety requirements

This document specifies requirements against all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazardous events relevant to booths for the application of coating material, when they are used as intended, including reasonably foreseeable misuse. See Annex A for significant hazards. This document also specifies recommendations for minimizing environmental impact of booths for the application of coating material. See Annex F for recommendations for minimizing environmental impact and energy usage. Interfaces between booths and other machinery used in application of coating material are given in Figure 1. The specific significant risks related to the use of this machinery with foodstuff and pharmaceutical products are not dealt with in this document. The specific significant risks related to drying operation of combined booths for application and drying of coating material are not dealt with in this document, but in EN 1539:2015. [Figure 1] This document is not applicable to: - spaces for application of coating material consisting only of an extraction wall; - platforms attached to booths (e.g. for touch-up jobs); - booths for application of flock (see EN 50223:2015); - airflow requirements for booths with airflow from horizontal inlet to vertical extraction. Information technology - Cabling installation - Part 3: Installation planning and practices outside buildings

This document specifies requirements and provides recommendations for the following aspects of information technology cabling: a) planning; b) installation practice. This document is applicable to all types of information technology cabling outside buildings including generic cabling systems designed in accordance with EN 50173 series. The requirements and recommendations of this document can be applied to cabling that is defined as part of the building. The requirements and recommendations of Clauses 5, 6 and 7 of this document are subject to any site-specific requirements and recommendations of Clause 8. The planning of the pathway systems, spaces and structures within the core and access network cabling as described in Figure 2 that are owned by access providers is excluded except for requirements and recommendations that provide basic safety, function and environmental objectives for mechanical, ingress and climatic characteristics (i.e. excluding pathway dimensions, distribution of spaces and similar constraints based on specific transmission methods). The installation practices applicable to all cabling installation methods are included by the provision of the necessary planning requirements and recommendations associated with each one with the exception of information technology cabling installed: – around or within aerial power supply or associated earth conductors; – on infrastructures carrying power supplies in excess of AC/DC 25 kV. This document: 1) details the considerations for satisfactory installation and operation of information technology cabling; 2) excludes specific requirements applicable to other cabling systems (e.g. power supply cabling); however, it takes account of the effects other cabling systems may have on the installation of information technology cabling (and vice versa) and gives general advice; 3) excludes those aspects of installation associated with the transmission of signals in free space between transmitters, receivers or their associated antenna systems (e.g. wireless, radio, microwave or satellite). This document is applicable to certain hazardous environments. It does not exclude additional requirements which are applicable in particular circumstances, defined by e.g. electricity supply and electrified railways. The requirements within this document cover any additional requirements for the information technology cables installed in hazardous or stressful environments e.g. electricity supply and electric railway locations (see Clause 8). Safety (electrical safety and protection, optical power, fire protection, etc.) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements are outside the scope of this document and are covered by other standards and regulations. However, information given in this document can be of assistance in meeting these standards and regulations. Examples of areas covered by this document are shown in Figure 2.

This European standard deals with the safety of electrically operated commercial hoods intended for installation above commercial cooking appliances such as ranges, griddles, griddle grills and deep fat fryers, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single phase hoods connected between one phase and neutral, and 480 V for other hoods. Only single complete units and hoods supplied as separate parts which when assembled form a complete working hood, incorporating a fan, are within the scope of the standard.

Woodworking machines - Safety - Part 17: Edge banding machines fed by chains (ISO/DIS 19085-17:2026)

This document gives the safety requirements and measures for edge banding machines fed by chains or belts, with manual loading and unloading and maximum workpiece height capacity of 100 mm, capable of continuous production use, hereinafter referred as “machines”. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events, listed in Annex A, relevant to the machines, when operated, adjusted and maintained as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer; reasonably foreseeable misuse has been considered too. Also, transport, assembly, dismantling, disabling and scrapping phases are taken into account. The machines are designed to process in one pass one end (single-end machine) or both ends (double-end machine) of panels of: —    materials with similar physical characteristics to wood (see ISO 19085-1:2021, 3.2), even with a core sheet of aluminium light alloy; —    gypsum plaster boards. Edges to be applied by the machine can be made of: —    paper; —    melamine; —    plastic; —    composite materials; —    aluminium; —    light alloy; —    veneer; —    solid wood. It is also applicable to machines fitted with one or more of the following devices/working units, whose hazards have been dealt with: —    hot air banding unit; —    laser banding unit; —    infrared banding unit; —    dynamic processing units; —    sanding belt units; —    milling unit installed out of the integral enclosure at the panel side on single-end machines; —    milling unit installed out of the integral enclosure between machines halves of double-end machines; —    additional fixed or movable workpiece support along the feed; —    additional infeed workpiece support; —    additional outfeed workpiece support; —    in-feed device for transversal loading of panels in single-end machines; —    intermediate workpiece support in double-end machines; —    automatic panel returner in single-end machines; —    automatic tool changing; —    quick tool changing system; —    automatic multiple edges infeed device; —    workpiece heaters. This document does not deal with any hazards relating to: a)   systems for loading and unloading of the workpiece to a single machine other than automatic panel returner and infeed and outfeed workpiece supports (e.g. robots); b)   the combination of a single machine being used with other machines (as part of a line); c)   workpiece dividing unit installed out of the integral enclosure and/or whose tools protrude out of the integral enclosure; d)   plasma banding unit. Dentistry - Endodontic absorbent points (ISO/DIS 7551:2026)

This document specifies the requirements and test methods for sterilized absorbent points used in endodontic procedures. Absorbent points are marketed sterilized or non-sterilized. The requirements apply to absorbent points which have been sterilized once in a manner approved by the manufacturer. This document specifies numerical systems and a colour-coding system for designating the sizes of absorbent points. Clause 7 specifies the labelling and packaging needed, including the instructions for use. A claim by the manufacturer that the contents of the unopened pack are sterile is the responsibility of the manufacturer (see Table 2). This document does not specify requirements or test methods for sterility. NOTE 1 Reference to applicable national regulations can be made. Reference is made to internationally accepted pharmacopoeia. NOTE 2 National requirements can apply. Standards on methods of validating sterilization processes are also available: ISO 11137-1, ISO 11137-2 and ISO 11137-3.

In vitro diagnostic medical devices - Evaluation of stability of in vitro diagnostic reagents (ISO/DIS 23640:2026)

ISO 23640:2011 is applicable to the stability evaluation of in vitro diagnostic medical devices, including reagents, calibrators, control materials, diluents, buffers and reagent kits, hereinafter called IVD reagents. ISO 23640:2011 can also be applied to specimen collection devices that contain substances used to preserve samples or to initiate reactions for further processing of the sample in the collection device. ISO 23640:2011 specifies general requirements for stability evaluation and gives specific requirements for real time and accelerated stability evaluation when generating data in: the establishment of IVD reagent shelf life, including transport conditions suitable to ensure that product specifications are maintained; the establishment of stability of the IVD reagent in use after the first opening of the primary container; the monitoring of stability of IVD reagents already placed on the market; the verification of stability specifications after modifications of the IVD reagent that might affect stability.

Paper and board intended to come into contact with foodstuffs - Determination of colour fastness of dyed paper and board

This document describes procedures for the testing of dyed paper and board intended to come into contact with foodstuffs. Some procedures depending on the foreseeable use of the material are given. Visual evaluation against a grey scale provides grading of the bleeding. For samples having significant different sides, a migration can occur from one glass fibre to the other and could lead to wrong interpretation of the fastness of one side. It is advisable to check these samples using large sampling procedure to prevent cross contamination of the glass fibre during the migration procedure. The procedure is described in Annex A. If lower limit of detection is required, this procedure could also be used.
