This part of the EN 1366 series specifies a method of test and criteria for the evaluation (including field of direct application rules) of the ability of a partial penetration seal to maintain the fire resistance of a separating element at the position at which it has been penetrated by a device or devices that passes through one face of the element only. Partial penetration seals are used to seal apertures for electrical sockets, downlighters, media devices, cables and any item which requires an opening to be made in one face of the element of construction but does not include a device which passes through both faces. Supporting constructions are used in this part of the EN 1366 series to represent separating elements such as walls or floors. The supporting construction shall be a system that has been subject to a fire test in accordance with one of the following standards: EN 13381 1 for horizontal membranes, EN 13381 2 for vertical membranes, EN 1364 1 or EN 1365 1 for walls, EN 1366 3 for walls based on a standard supporting construction, or EN 1364 2 or EN 1365 2 for floors. This is referred to throughout this document as the applicable test standard for the supporting construction. This part of the EN 1366 series is used in conjunction with EN 1363 1. The purpose of a test described in this part of the EN 1366 series is to assess the integrity and insulation performance of the partial penetration seal, of the partially penetrating service(s) or device(s) and of the separating element in the surrounding area of the partial penetration seal. Where partial penetration seals are installed in loadbearing elements, it is possible that the loadbearing capacity is also considered. It is not the intention of this test to provide quantitative information on the rate of leakage of smoke and/or hot gases or on the transmission or generation of fumes. Tests in accordance with this part of the EN 1366 series are not intended to supply any information on the ability of the partial penetration seal to withstand stress caused by movements or displacements of the penetrating devices. The risk of spread of fire downwards cannot be assessed with this test. Tests in accordance with this part of the EN 1366 series do not address any risks associated with leakage of dangerous liquids or gases caused by failure of the device in case of fire.

This document specifies a method for the taxonomic identification of single crustaceans to the genus or species level using DNA barcoding. It allows the identification of a large number of commercially important crustacean species. This method was validated on raw crustaceans. Laboratory experience indicates additional applicability to processed crustacean products, e.g. cold smoked, hot smoked, salted, frozen, cooked, fried and deep-fried samples. The described method is usually unsuitable for the analysis of highly processed foods, e.g. tins of crustaceans, with highly degraded DNA where the fragment lengths are not sufficient for amplification of the targets. Furthermore, it is not applicable for complex seafood products containing mixtures of two or more crustacean species. The identification of crustacean species is carried out by PCR amplification of either a shorter or longer segment of the mitochondrial 16S rRNA gene, or a segment of the cytochrome c oxidase I gene (cox1, syn. COI) or any combination of the three markers, followed by sequencing of the PCR products and subsequent sequence comparison with entries in databases.

This document provides a recommended method to assess the performance of personal light electric vehicles totally or partially electrically on: total run time (battery run time). The requirements and recommendations of Clauses 5, 6 and 7 of this document are subject to any site-specific requirements and recommendations of Clause 8. The planning of the pathway systems, spaces and structures within the core and access network cabling as described in Figure 2 that are owned by access providers is excluded except for requirements and recommendations that provide basic safety, function and environmental objectives for mechanical, ingress and climatic characteristics (i.e. excluding pathway dimensions, distribution of spaces and similar constraints based on specific transmission methods). The installation practices applicable to all cabling installation methods are included by the provision of the necessary planning requirements and recommendations associated with each one with the exception of information technology cabling installed: – around or within aerial power supply or associated earth conductors; – on infrastructures carrying power supplies in excess of AC/DC 25 kV. This document: 1) details the considerations for satisfactory installation and operation of information technology cabling; 2) excludes specific requirements applicable to other cabling systems (e.g. power supply cabling); however, it takes account of the effects other cabling systems may have on the installation of information technology cabling (and vice versa) and gives general advice; 3) excludes those aspects of installation associated with the transmission of signals in free space between transmitters, receivers or their associated antenna systems (e.g. wireless, radio, microwave or satellite). This document is applicable to certain hazardous environments. It does not exclude additional requirements which are applicable in particular circumstances, defined by e.g. electricity supply and electrified railways.
