ISO 17879:2017 specifies the design, type testing, marking and manufacturing tests and examinations requirements for self-closing cylinder valves intended to be fitted to refillable transportable gas cylinders which convey compressed, liquefied or dissolved gases. NOTE 1 The main applications for such self-closing cylinder valves are in the calibration gas and beverage industries. ISO 17879:2017 covers the function of a self-closing cylinder valve as a closure. NOTE 2 Requirements for standard cylinder valves are given in ISO 10297. Requirements for quick-release cylinder valves are given in ISO 17871. ISO 17879:2017 is not applicable to self-closing cylinder valves for cryogenic equipment, for portable fire extinguishers, or for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). NOTE 3 Requirements for valves for cryogenic vessels are specified in ISO 21011 and at a regional level, for example, in EN 1626. Requirements for valves for portable fire extinguishers at a regional level are specified, for example, in EN 3 series. Requirements for self-closing LPG cylinder valves are specified in ISO 14245. NOTE 4 Additional requirements for pressure-relief devices might be specified in international/regional regulations/standards.

ISO 12800:2017 gives guidelines on the determination of the specific surface area of as-fabricated uranium dioxide powder by volumetric or gravimetric determination of the amount of nitrogen adsorbed on the powder, and can be applied to other similar materials, e.g. U3O8, UO2-PuO2 powders, and other bodies with similar surface areas, e.g. powder granules or green pellets, provided that the conditions described are fulfilled. Modifications using other adsorbing gases are included. The method is relevant as long as the expected value is in the range between 1 m2/g and 10 m2/g.

Specifies the requirements and the relevant tests for sterilizers intended to be used for the terminal sterilization of health care products (medical devices or medicinal products) presented as aqueous liquid in sealed containers. The container can be rigid, semi rigid or flexible. The sterilizing agent, moist heat, is created internally from the product, heating being achieved by use of saturated steam, mixtures of steam and a pressure ballasting non-condensing gas such as air or super-heated water in the sterilizer chamber. The sterilizers can be used in both a health care and industrial setting. This standard does not apply to sterilizers using saturated steam for the sterilization of the surfaces of medical devices or sterilizers used in laboratories. NOTE 1 Sterilizers using saturated steam for sterilizing the surfaces of medical devices are covered by EN 285 and EN 13060. Laboratory sterilizers are covered by some national standards. NOTE 2 Sterilizers conforming to NWIP ISO XXXXX can also be used for the sterilization of other aqueous liquid in sealed containers such as veterinary products or some foodstuffs. Note 3 Sterilizers conforming to NWIP ISO XXXXX can also be used for the sterilization of a contained product enclosed within a sterile barrier system conforming to the EN ISO 11607 series of standards.

This document specifies a calculation method to determine the thermal transmittance of glass with flat and parallel surfaces. This document applies to uncoated glass (including glass with structured surfaces, e.g. patterned glass), coated glass and materials not transparent in the far infrared which is the case for soda lime glass products, borosilicate glass, glass ceramic, alkaline earth silicate glass and alumino silicate glass. It applies also to multiple glazing comprising such glasses and/or materials. It does not apply to multiple glazing which include in the gas space sheets or foils that are far infrared transparent. The procedure specified in this document determines the U value (thermal transmittance) in the central area of glazing. The edge effects due to the thermal bridge through the spacer of an insulating glass unit or through the window frame are not included. Furthermore, energy transfer due to solar radiation is not taken into account. The effects of Georgian and other bars are excluded from the scope of this document. NOTE EN ISO 10077 1:2017 provides a methodology for calculating the overall U value of windows, doors and shutters [1], taking account of the U value calculated for the glass components according to this document. Also excluded from the calculation methodology are any effects due to gases that absorb infrared radiation in the 5 to 50 µm range. The primary purpose of this document is product comparison, for which a vertical position of the glazing is specified. In addition, U values are calculated using the same procedure for other purposes, in particular for predicting: - heat loss through glass; - conduction heat gains in summer; - condensation on glass surfaces; - the effect of the absorbed solar radiation in determining the solar factor [2]. Reference can be made to [3], [4] and [5] or other European Standards dealing with heat loss calculations for the application of glazing U values determined by this standard. Reference can be made to [6] for detailed calculations of U values of glazing, including shading devices. Vacuum Insulating Glass (VIG) is excluded from the scope of this document. For determination of the U value of VIG, please refer to EN 674 or ISO 19916-1. A procedure for the determination of emissivity is given in EN 12898. The rules have been made as simple as possible consistent with accuracy.

It does not include requirements for electrical safety. It does not include requirements for the resistance to ageing, degradation, flammability and ergonomics. The requirements are based on use by persons weighing up to 110 kg. Annex A (normative) specifies the seat side-to-side durability test in D-G points. Annex B (informative) gives rationales for some of the tests referred to in Table 1. Annex C (normative) specifies the test methods for finger entrapment and shear and compression. Annex D (normative) specifies the seat loading point for seating with suspended flexible material.

This document establishes a classification for phenolic and aminoplastic polycondensation adhesives classified according to EN 301, one component polyurethane adhesives classified according to EN 15425 and emulsion polymer isocyanate adhesives classified according to EN 16254, according to their suitability for use for load-bearing timber structures made of selected hardwood species (group A) in defined climatic exposure conditions; it specifies performance requirements for such adhesives for the factory manufacture or factory-like manufacturing conditions of load-bearing timber structures made of selected hardwood species only, with no specific high shear strength classification. NOTE An adhesive with high shear strength classification is needed when the declared characteristic shear strength of the glued laminated product is above 3,5 N/mm2, which is the declared characteristic shear strength of glulam made of softwoods according to EN 14080:2013 Table 4. See prEN 18307-3 requirements in this case. It also classifies aminoplastic adhesive systems being used with a range of hardener dosage, and one component polyurethane adhesive product lines where all the products within the line have the same chemical composition except for a different amount of catalyst. This document only specifies the performance of an adhesive for use in an environment corresponding to the defined conditions. The performance requirements of this document are applicable to the adhesive only, not to the manufacturing timber products. This document does not cover the performance of adhesives for on-site gluing (except for factory-like conditions) nor the production of wood-based panels, except solid wood panels, or modified and stabilized wood with considerably reduced swelling and shrinkage properties, e.g. such as acetylated wood, heat treated wood and polymer impregnated wood. It also does not cover preservative treated wood. This document is primarily intended for use by adhesive manufacturers and for use in timber products made of selected hardwood species bonded with adhesives, to assess or control the quality of adhesives. The requirements apply to the type testing of the adhesives. Production control activities are outside the scope of this document. Adhesives meeting the requirements of this document are adequate for use in a load-bearing timber products made of selected hardwood species, provided that the bonding process has been carried out according to an appropriate product standard. Selected hardwood species covered by this document are listed in FprCEN/TS XXX , group A. FprCEN/TS XXX also specifies nominal physical properties of the mentioned species that are used for testing according to this document.
